Thesis sketches

I've been focusing on the character of Ariel. Men have played the character, women have played the character. In the play Ariel is a tree, a person and a harpy. All of this to me suggests shapeshifting and the gender of the role being different depending on the production supports that in my eyes. Well, I have yet to design Ariel as a woman but here are a few sketches of Ariel as male, a harpy and a child. I like the idea of Ariel appearing as a child. I think it's creepy.

So I just finished the cover for the newest project from the Robopocalypse. It's a coloring book about robots and kids. It's simple but I like it.

So because I was a crazy obsessed fan of Ryan Murphy's Popular I was excited for his new show GLEE. It didn't disappoint me and now I am drawing the whole cast. This is the first one I completed.

Romeo and Juliet

Another Romeo and Juliet, this time as a Japanese wood block cut, done digitally.

This was inspired by the novel The Girl Who Owned a City painted for a class but mostly for my friend Joëlle. It's the main character, Lisa.

Thesis

Romeo + Juliet?

I wanted to do an illustration of Romeo and Juliet as a werewolf and a vampire. It needs some work. The dress is clearly stolen from a certain friend.
